Our afternoon out at Sandwell Valley Country Park

Yesterday, despite the cold weather and the lack of sunshine me and the Mr decided to take the youngest out to Sandwell Valley Country park.

We actually went for a walk and for some lunch however this is not the only thing that you can do here.

The weather was dry but Oh So Cold! With the wind whipping through the open air and tree branches so we only made it as far as the swan pool (pictured below!)

So we headed back towards Sandwell valley farm and went inside to grab some lunch.

We paid £2.20 per adult to get in, and the area includes a gift shop, a small educational area about the history of the area, a cafe, and a small farm with pigs chickens and ponies. It also has a maze for the children, a rather large vegetable garden and they even have a market stall with fruit, veg, meat and plants all at reasonable prices.

After a lunch of pulled pork, stuffing and gravy baguettes (yummy! By the way!) we headed back to the car to drive home.

However if you’re in the area and it’s a nice day this place is well worth the visit, with two farms located at opposite ends of the park, multiple play areas for the kids, burger stalls, a fun fair in summer, a cycle hire, various walks and ponds to feed the ducks and swans you could literally spend the whole day here either by yourself or with the kids.

Have you ever been here? Or know of any similar places to visit?
